Mountains to the Sea…Utah Style

Last weekend I had the opportunity to go up and shoot up at Snowbird Ski Resort at sunrise again. I’d been up there once before and it was amazing so I was exited at the opportunity to go up there again. Rode up with the ski patrol and this time I did a short time lapse of the sun rising and then a few stills. The time lapse unfortunately got cut short because of the heli almost blowing my camera completely over. Kind of crazy but it was fun. Then I went out to the Great Salt Lake to shoot a few winter sailing shots. Finally got out on the boat and got some pretty cool fog and cloud shots from the lake. It was a long and cold day but fun non the less. Here are a few shots I took. Thanks to my friend Dean for getting me on the mountain and Paul for getting me on the Lake.

Attempt #1 at Snow Sailing

This last Saturday I was invited out to go sailing to continue my work on my Sailing the Great Salt Lake Project that I started over the summer. Which I was exited about because it was really foggy that day.  I’ve been wanting to get some cool winter sailing images since the Great Salt Lake is the only lake I know of that you can sail on in freezing temperatures. I got out there but the we had a problem with a fuel line which made it impossible to get out of the marina. So bummed. I will have to try again soon. Hopefully we will have better luck next time. I did get a nice shot of Lance as he was taking a short break from shoveling out his boat in preparation for departure. LanceInMarinaSnow-1
